Nigerian Drug Gang Arrested for Supplying Narcotics to Islamabad Educational Institutions

Nigerian Drug Gang Arrested for Supplying Narcotics to Islamabad Educational Institutions

In a significant breakthrough, the Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) successfully apprehended a six-member Nigerian gang involved in supplying drugs to students in educational institutions across Islamabad.

Details of the Arrest

The operation commenced with the arrest of a Nigerian national in Islamabad, whose interrogation led to the exposure of a larger network of foreign accomplices. Acting swiftly on the information provided, ANF conducted targeted raids near a hotel in Sector G-13, which resulted in the capture of five additional Nigerian nationals.

Upon searching their apartment, ANF recovered:

  • 135 grams of cocaine
  • 3.2 kilograms of crystal meth (ice)

Targeting Students in Educational Institutions

The arrested individuals admitted to supplying narcotics to students residing in hostels and attending educational institutions in Islamabad. This alarming revelation underscores the urgent need for stringent measures to prevent drug smuggling targeting young students.

Foreign Nationals in Drug Smuggling

The ANF highlighted a worrying trend of increased involvement of foreign nationals, particularly from African countries, in drug smuggling activities within Pakistan. These individuals have been employing advanced and hazardous methods to transport and distribute narcotics.

ANF’s Commitment to Fighting Drug Smuggling

Officials affirmed that operations against drug smuggling in educational institutions will continue unabated. The crackdown aims to protect students and ensure educational spaces remain drug-free. The ANF is also working on strategies to identify and dismantle smuggling networks operating in Pakistan.

The arrest of this Nigerian gang is a critical step in curbing the drug supply chain targeting Islamabad’s youth. As the ANF intensifies its efforts, this operation serves as a reminder of the dangers posed by drug smuggling and the importance of collective action to combat it.
