The Lahore Development Authority (LDA), in collaboration with the Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB), conducted computerized balloting for five and seven marla residential plots in Tajpura, Jubilee Town, and Johar Town. The event took place at the Expo Center and was attended by notable figures, including Punjab Minister for Housing Bilal Yasin, LDA Vice Chairman Mian Marghoob Ahmed, Parliamentary Secretary Barrister Sultan Bajwa, and LDA Director General (DG) Tahir Farooq.
During the event, Minister Bilal Yasin emphasized the transparency of the process, ensured by PITB’s use of advanced pseudocode techniques. He congratulated the 1,201 successful applicants and revealed plans for the “Apni Chhat Apna Ghar” initiative, led by Maryam Nawaz, to provide affordable and high-quality housing in the upcoming year.

Parliamentary Secretary Barrister Sultan Bajwa praised LDA for its exceptional performance among development authorities, highlighting the opportunities provided through this balloting.
In addition to the balloting, LDA is actively working to address illegal constructions and non-compliant commercial establishments. Recently, 102 properties across areas such as Gulberg, Faisal Town, and Shadman were sealed, while several illegal constructions were demolished under the supervision of LDA’s Chief Town Planner, Asad ul Zaman.
Monument Restoration Projects
On a related note, the Parks and Horticulture Authority (PHA) is spearheading restoration projects across Lahore, including the Liberty Monument and inactive fountains on major highways. PHA DG Muhammad Tahir Wattoo emphasized the priority of making Lahore greener and more beautiful, reflecting the vision of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz.
