Islamabad, January 12, 2025 – The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has initiated a major procurement of 1,010 Honda City 1.2L CVT vehicles valued at approximately Rs. 6 billion. This move aims to bolster tax enforcement and streamline operations by enhancing mobility and operational efficiency for its officers.
Procurement Details and Financial Plan
FBR has issued a Letter of Intent (LoI) to Honda Atlas Cars (Pakistan) Limited for this significant purchase. The deal involves an upfront payment of Rs. 3 billion, covering the full cost of 500 units and partial payment for the remaining 510 units. The balance will be settled after the first batch delivery is completed.
The phased delivery schedule is as follows:
- January 2025: 75 vehicles
- February 2025: 200 vehicles
- March 2025: 225 vehicles
- April 2025: 250 vehicles
- May 2025: 260 vehicles
Strategic Allocation of Vehicles
The vehicles will be allocated to officers in BS-17 and BS-18 from the Inland Revenue Service (IRS) and Pakistan Customs Service (PCS). These officers will leverage the cars to implement key tax compliance systems, including the Point of Sale (POS) system, track and trace mechanisms, and digital invoicing compliance.

Each car comes with several high-value features to ensure functionality and comfort:
- Navigation System: Integrated with a reverse camera for enhanced usability.
- Interior Quality: High-grade materials for better comfort during operations.
- Maintenance Benefits: Free periodic maintenance up to 20,000 kilometers or 12 months.
- Extended Warranty: Four years or 100,000 kilometers, contingent on maintenance at authorized Honda dealerships.
- Security Tracking: Tracker system installation with one year of service charges included.
- Custom Branding: FBR logos displayed prominently on the front doors and windscreen.
