- MPAs: Raised from Rs. 76,000 to Rs. 400,000 (a 426% increase).
- Parliamentary Secretaries: Increased from Rs. 83,000 to Rs. 451,000.
- Advisors and Special Assistants to the Chief Minister: Revised from Rs. 100,000 to Rs. 665,000.
The speaker defended these adjustments, citing the inadequacy of the 2019 pay structure in the prevailing economic climate. The legislation emphasizes that public representatives’ salaries must be revised periodically under the 1972 Parliamentary Act.
