Dewan Farooque Motors’ Milestone with Local Assembly of Honri-VE Electric Vehicles in Pakistan

Dewan Farooque Motors Limited (DFML) has reached a significant milestone in Pakistan’s electric vehicle (EV) market by successfully assembling over 100 units of the Honri-VE electric vehicle (EV) at its local assembly plant. This milestone was achieved within the first three months of production and highlights DFML’s vital role in boosting Pakistan’s EV industry.

In a recent notification to the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), DFML confirmed the delivery of the initial batch of 100 Honri-VE units to Eco-Green Motors Limited for distribution. This marks a growing demand for electric vehicles in Pakistan, and DFML’s commitment to producing them locally is a major step toward promoting sustainable mobility in the country.

The Honri-VE is a Chinese-made EV designed to compete with popular Suzuki models like the Wagon R, Cultus, and Mehran, especially in terms of comfort and space. DFML’s Director & Company Secretary, Muhammad Hanif German, specifically pointed out the vehicle’s interior and seating capacity, noting that it most closely resembles the Suzuki Wagon R.

Honri-VE Variants:

  • Honri-VE 2.0: Offers a 200 km range on a full charge, priced at Rs. 3.99 million.
  • Honri-VE 3.0: Provides a 300 km range on a full charge, priced at Rs. 4.99 million.

Both variants feature eco-friendly technology and affordable pricing, positioning the Honri-VE as a strong contender in the local market. These vehicles offer a greener alternative to traditional fuel-based cars, and as more vehicles hit the roads, Pakistan’s shift toward electric mobility continues to gain momentum.

In an exciting development, Eco-Green Motors, a part of Dewan Motors, has rolled out the first locally assembled Honri-VE unit from its Sajawal factory. This marks a significant achievement as Eco-Green Motors received the first manufacturing certificate issued by the Engineering Development Board (EDB) for assembling electric vehicles in Pakistan.

The Honri-VE 2.0 and 3.0 variants are now locally assembled and equipped with impressive features. The Honri-VE 2.0 comes with a Ternary Lithium Battery and a Permanent Synchronous motor, producing 30Kw of power and 84Nm of torque, with a top speed of 100 km/h. It also features a 200 km range per charge, with a 7-hour charging time.

The Honri-VE 3.0, which delivers a 300 km range, packs a permanent magnet synchronous motor offering 35 kW of power and 87 Nm of torque. It also has a 29.9 kWh lithium iron phosphate battery known for its durability. Both variants include a 220V AC charging gun for easy at-home charging, along with advanced features like rearview cameras, tire pressure monitoring systems (TPMS), and 10.25-inch infotainment screens with Android support.

With these advancements, DFML’s local production efforts will impact both the prices and availability of electric vehicles in Pakistan, fostering a competitive market that could change the landscape of the Pakistani automobile industry.
