Pakistan Wins Test Series on Home Soil, Downs England 2-1 in Thrilling Decider

Pakistan Clinch Historic Test Series Win at Home, Defeat England 2-1 After Three Years

Pakistan’s cricket team celebrated a historic Test series victory against England, clinching a memorable 2-1 win at home for the first time in three years. Spinners Noman Ali and Sajid Khan dismantled England’s batting lineup to secure a nine-wicket victory in the decisive third Test on Saturday.

Pakistan took control of the match with a crucial first-innings lead of 77 runs, thanks to a spin-friendly pitch where both teams’ spinners shined. Noman’s impressive 6-42 and Sajid’s 4-69 bundled England out for a mere 112 in their second innings, leaving Pakistan with just 36 runs to chase for the series win.

Despite the early wicket of Saim Ayub, Pakistan wrapped up the chase on day three. Captain Shan Masood hit Jack Leach for four consecutive boundaries, followed by a six off Shoaib Bashir to clinch the victory in style.

Noman and Sajid played pivotal roles in Pakistan’s success, capturing 19 of England’s 20 wickets in the final Test. The spin duo also claimed 39 of the 40 English wickets in the last two matches after being included mid-series—a testament to their skill on spin-friendly tracks.

Starting the day at 24-3, England’s batting order struggled against Pakistan’s relentless spin attack. Joe Root (33) was the only player to look comfortable at the crease, but once Noman dismissed him, Pakistan’s win was all but assured.

England captain Ben Stokes’ dismissal—lbw while offering no shot to an incoming delivery from Noman—epitomized their struggles throughout the match.

This series victory marks Pakistan’s first home Test series win since their 2-0 victory over South Africa in 2021.

Key Highlights:

  • Pakistan’s Spin Dominance: Noman Ali and Sajid Khan took 19 of the 20 wickets in the final match.
  • Decisive Performance: Pakistan’s nine-wicket win sealed the series 2-1.
  • Shan Masood’s Finishing Touch: Masood’s impressive hitting, including four boundaries and a six, clinched the victory on day three.

This triumph brings renewed energy to Pakistan’s Test cricket, showcasing their strength on home soil and the impressive talents of their spinners.
